Shelford Group
The Shelford Group is an informal organisation of leading English University Teaching Hospitals within the National Health Service. The ten members collectively employ over 83,000 people with a turnover of over £7 billion.
The member organisations are University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The group lobbies for funding on behalf of its members.[1] Less of the income of these hospitals comes from the standard NHS tariff than other Trusts.[2]
