Shaunie O'Neal (born Va’Shaundya Karlette Nelson on November 27, 1974 in Los Angeles, CA) is the current executive producer of VH-1’s reality TV series, Basketball Wives & Basketball Wives LA, and is the former wife of NBA center, Shaquille O’Neal.[1] Formerly a film marketer, O'Neal is, as of May 2012, a TV personality and producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and mother of five children.[2]

Personal life

Shaunie was raised in Los Angeles, CA. She married Shaquille O'Neal on December 26, 2002 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Before and during[3] their marriage, the couple had four children: Shareef Rashaun, Amirah Sanaa, Shaquir Rashaun, and Me’arah Sanaa. Shaunie has a son, Myles, from a previous relationship, while Shaquille O'Neal has a daughter, Taahirah with his former girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh. Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal separated after five years of marriage on September 4, 2007, but reconciled shortly after. On November 9, 2010, Shaunie filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences".[4]
