Shaun Bonétt (born 1 January 1971) is an Australian entrepreneur,[1] and property developer who currently serves as the chief executive officer of Precision Group.[4][5]
Early life
Shaun Bonétt was born in London, England, to parents of Australian and Maltese descent,[1] Marlene and Anton Bonétt, the latter of whom was an oncologist for the World Health Organisation.[3] The family "migrated to Australia in the midst of the doctors' lockout back in 1978."[2] Bonétt, during the 1980s, worked as a law clerk in Adelaide, and in 1991, "Bonétt graduated from the University of Adelaide with degrees in Laws and Arts".[1][6] He previously studied at Saint Ignatius College.[1]
Career
Bonétt became a "qualified lawyer and Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia".[7] In 1994, the entrepreneur founded Precision Group, a "commercial property company".[7] As such, he was involved in the re-positioning of MacArthur Central,[8][9] and corroborating with the Bank of China to purchase the Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre,[10] as well "a $90 million office tower in Brisbane".[11] Shaun Bonétt also negotiated the establishment of a Tiffany & Company outlet in Adelaide Central Plaza, along with three other international retailers,[12] including David Jones.[13] His wealth, as of 2015, is estimated by the BRW Rich List to be $478 million (113th rank),[14] a number that climbed from $220 million in 2006.[15]
Shaun Bonétt has actively supported Australia's free trade agreement with China, stating that it has a "favourable influence on the valuation and demand for Australian property".[16] Both Shaun and his wife Vanessa, established "the Heartfelt Foundation - which helps charities under stress."[2] In addition, Bonétt was invested into the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in 2010.[17][18]
