Ehtesham Idrees (born 16 October 1988), better known by his stage name Sham Idrees is a British Canadian YouTube personality, actor, singer-songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur of Pakistani decent.[1] Idrees is cousin of British singer Zayn Malik.[2]
Life and career
Sham Idrees was born in London, United Kingdom to a Muslim family from Islamabad, Pakistan. At the age of 16, his family moved to Canada settling in Hamilton, Ontario. He is second cousin of former One Direction singer Zayn Malik.[3] Sham began his career as a YouTube personality in 2012. He gained popularity with his debut album titled "London 2 Paris" in 2013. Three singles "Bolo Na", "Pyar Hoa" and "Dil Dil Pakistan" from the album became popular and gained over million views on YouTube. The single "Dil Dil Pakistan" was the remix of Vital Signs 1987 song "Dil Dil Pakistan". It was also played on many television channels in Pakistan. Sham has over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. He also creates comedy videos and has also collaborated with Zaid Ali and Shahveer Jafry.[4][5]
