Shahiduzzaman Selim (Bengali: শহীদুজ্জামান সেলিম, born: January 5[1]) is a popular name in the theatre, drama, as well as film industry of Bangladesh. He is mainly an actor and maker of Bangla dramas. He has so far acted in more than hundred dramas. Although Bangladeshi Actor Shahiduzzaman Selim entered into the media through stage dramas, he established himself as an actor through television dramas.[2]

Early life

Selim studied in Tangail Bindubashini Government High School upto class two. Then he came to Dhaka and admitted into Motijheel Ideal School and pass SSC from that School.[3] He then admitted into Jahangirnagar University. He joined "Dhaka Theatre" in 1983 when he was a university student.[4]

Career

Selim started his career in small screen in 1989 through the drama titled Jonaki Jwole. He is also directed several TV drama and telefilm.

2006-2010

Selim made four digital films titled Mixed Culture, Ekjon Ajmal Hossain, Abinashi Shabdorashi and Chicago Hridoy in 2008, jointly produced by Chicago Bioscope (US) and Dream Factory (Bangladesh) and shooting of these film were in the USA. Ekjon Ajmal Hossain participated in the Independent Film Festival in USA.[5]

2011-2015

He directed DB, a detective TV drama serial in 2012,[6] Ek Jhak Mrito Jonaki in 2015.[7] Selim has also made two tele-dramas titled Somoy Osomoy and Fera Ar Na Ferar Majhe.[8] He attended "North American Film Festival" where his acted film Bapjaner Bio-scope were shown.[9] Selim is also the caller of "Jahangirnagar University Media Society" (JUMS).[10]

Selim got married with Rosey Siddique who is also a popular actress. They have a daughter named Toma.
