Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University (SRTTU) is a public university in Tehran, Iran. It was founded in 1980. Its first president was Ghodratollahe Toorang and it was named after Mohammad Ali Rajaee, the president of the country in that time after he was assassinated. The university is located in the north of Tehran which called Lavizan.
Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University (SRTTU) provides both undergraduate and graduate programs in eight faculties for typical students and teachers hired by the Ministry of Education. The education programs of typical students are separated from teacher's education programs in order to provide professional education for each group. SRTTU is a public university and therefore, the budget for education and research programs is provided by the government of Iran. Students are accepted into the university by Iranian University Entrance Exam (Konkur) which conducted by the ministry of science and technology, winning prestigious scientific awards like Khwarizmi as well as direct postgraduate programs of the ministry of science for top ranking students. SRTTU is located in the Northern part of Tehran, the capital of Iran. It has therefore the privilege of hosting some top students of provincial universities as guest and transfer students in competitive situations every year. SRTTU is honorably the sole center of UNEVOC/UNESCO in Iran.
Faculties & Schools
Faculty of Electrical Engineering
This faculty offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in four engineering departments: Electronics Engineering; Power Engineering; Control Engineering; and Communications Engineering.
Dr. Reza Ghandehari is currently the Dean of Faculty.
Dr. Mohammad Shams Esfand Abadi (Dr. MSE Abadi) and Dr. Saeed Olyaee are two of the outstanding researchers at this faculty.
Faculty of Computer Engineering
This faculty is a newly established faculty. It was established in the year 2013 as a result of the growing needs for majors in this field. The faculty offers four departments, including: Computer Engineering Software; Computer Engineering Hardware; Information Technology; Artificial Intelligence. Presently, Dr. Reza Ebrahimpour is the Dean of Faculty.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
This faculty offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the following engineering departments: Mechanical Engineering - Manufacturing; Mechanical Engineering - Solids Design; Materials Engineering - Industrial Metallurgy; Mechanical Engineering - Automotive; Mechanical Engineering - HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning). Education in branch of manufacturing and production is with high qualified experiments due to equipped laboratories such as metrology lab, machine tools as well as welding and casting labs.Furthermore, Bachelor's degree (B.SC.) of machine tools and die designing in minor of manufacturing and production engineering are also offered in mechanical engineering department.

Faculty of Civil Engineering
This Faculty has three departments including: Civil Engineering, Wood Science & Technology, and Surveying Engineering. Dr. Saeed Ghaffarpour Jahromi is presently the Dean of the Faculty.
The Faculty has vast and comprehensive educational and research labs: - Gas and Liquid Permeability Measurement Lab - Virtual Lab - GIS & Mapping - Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing - Strong Floor Lab - Polarized Microscope Lab - Construction Materials Lab
School of Architecture and Urban Design
The School of Architecture and Environmental Design is divided into three departments: Architecture Engineering, Urban Design, and Virtual Communications. It admits students at both undergraduate (B.A.) and postgraduate (M.A. and Ph.D.) levels. Dr. Jamaloddin Mehdinezhad is presently the Dean of the School. This school has many research laboratories, including: Sculpture; Graphic studios; Architectural studios; Animation and illustration; W/B and color photography; and Silkscreen and hand printing.
Faculty of Science
Faculty of Science offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the following departments: Mathematics; Physics; Chemistry; and Environment.
Dr. Rasool Mirzaei is currently the Dean of Faculty. The Faculty of Science benefits from comprehensive scientific and educational laboratories and offers services to other universities as well as the private sectors. Dr. Nik-Amal (Department of Physics), Dr. Ghorbani (Department of Mathematics), and Dr. Beheshtian (Department of Chemistry) can be mentioned as some of the outstanding professors at this Faculty who achieved scientific success at both national and international scales.
Faculty of Humanities
This faculty offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the following departments: English literature; Persian literature; Theology; Educational psychology. Presently, Dr. Zahra Kashaniha is the Dean of Faculty. The faculty offers short and long term courses to other universities. The courses include SPSS, Scientific paper writing; Literary editing; Translation skills; Advanced statistics; Experimental designs and data analysis, and many more.
Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences
This faculty offers B.Sc. and M.Sc Degrees at its three departments, including: Physical Education and Sport Sciences; Motor Behavior; and Exercise Physiology. Presently, Dr. Farshid Tahmasbi is the Dean of Faculty. There are numerous courses offered by this faculty taking advantage of its vast and well-equipped laboratories such as: Chess hall; Tennis courts; Wrestling hall; Table tennis hall; Exercise physiology and motor behavior labs: Fitness Gym, etc.
Center of E-Learning
Designing distance education and material development for virtual and part-time courses are duties of the virtual education Center .By establishing LMS and CMS systems in the center, it is possible to develop MA courses for students in any time and any place.

Research
Journals
SRTTU has Journal of Computational and Applied Research in Mechanical Engineering (JCARME) for publishing recent research in the computational and applied mechanical engineering. Original research papers from all branches of the mechanical engineering are published in the Journal.
Journal of Technology of Education (JTE) is another Journal of SRTTU which has focused on research for increasing quality level of science and engineering education by using new technologies.
Book Publishing
Publication office of Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University (SRTTU) was established in 1998 in order to publish research books of faculties and researchers of the university.
Research Laboratories
Brain and Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory (BISLab)
Brain and Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory (BISLab)[1] started its research activities with one principal investigator,Dr. Reza Ebrahimpour, and one full-time researcher, Soheil Faridi in 2009. The lab activities are increased gradually by adding more students in order to research on the areas of:

- Pattern Recognition
- Multiple Classifier Systems
- Computational Neuroscience
- Artificial Intelligence
Rajaee Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (RAIL)
Rajaee Artificial Intelligence Laboratory was founded in 2004 and Hamidreza Shayegh is currently the supervisor of the lab. The recherches in the laboratory is mostly concentrated on preparing teams for Robocup competitions. The lab has teams in following fields:

- Soccer Simulation 2D
- Soccer Simulation 3D
- Deminer Autonomous
Members of the lab are also engaged in Machine Vision and Brain Computer Interface researches in affiliation with BISLab.
Facilities
Equipped laboratories for engineering education
SRTTU has many equipped laboratories and workshops for teaching engineering sciences to the students. Metrology lab, machine tools workshop and CNC lab, casting workshop, welding workshops, auto mechanic lab and die designing workshop are some of the university’s workshops.
Sport Complex
The university has good sport facilities such as covered swimming pool, soccer place and tennis courts.
Central Library
Number of books in service are about 15000 volumes in the English and 39039 title in the Persian languages. Main subjects are periodicals and journals, thesis and reports, e-resources, journals for faculties of sciences, human science and physical education departments.
Residences
The university has five dormitories (two for males and three for females) which have capacity of settling 2200 students altogether.
