Shahbaz Khan Bugti
Nawab Sir Shahbaz Khan Bugti KCIE (Sindhi: سر شھباز خان بگٽي) (1897-1989) was a prominent tribal chief of the Bugtis in Balochistan.
He was knighted as a Knight Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire (KCIE) in November 1901[1] for fighting for the British Colonial Government of India and for his service to the British colonials.[2] In addition, Sir Shahbaz received large gifts of land in Balochistan. He is also mentioned in the book The Tigers of Balochistan.
Family
He was the father of Nawab Mehrab Khan Bugti and Nawabzada Sardar Sohrab Khan Bugti. He was the grandfather of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Nawabzada Ahmed Nawaz Khan Bugti & Sardar Ghulam Mustafa Khan Bugti. He had fifteen great grandsons. Six from Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, namely, Nawabzada Salim Bugti, Nawabzada Rehan Bugti, Nawabzada Talal Bugti, Nawabzada Salal Bugti, Nawabzada Jameel Bugti and Shahzewar Bugti. From Nawabzada Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Bugti he had three great grandsons Namely Nawabzada Bevaragh Bugti, Nawabzada Murtaza Bugti and Nawabzada Fahad Ahmad Bugti. From Sardar Ghulam Mustafa Khan Bugti he had six great grandsons, namely Mir Sohrab Khan Bugti, Dr Allah Nawaz Bugti, Mir M. Yousuf Khan Bugti, Mir M. Baber Khan Bugti, Mir M. Taimur Khan Bugti and Mir M. Aurangzeb Khan Bugti. Whereas, his one great great grandson, Sultan Ahmed Khan Bugti, son of Muhammad Yousuf Khan Bugti, has joined Balochistan's bureaucracy through competitive exam and serving as an Assistant Commissioner since 2011.
