Shabareesh Varma is an Indian Lyricist, Singer and Actor. He made his debut in the Alphonse Putharen's 2013 film Neram.^[1]^[2] He rose to fame with his lyrics compositions for the 2015 film Premam.^[3] He is well-Known for his song Pistah in Neram.

Early life

Shabareesh Varma was born to P.K Nandana Varma and Sulekha Varma in North Paravur, Ernakulam. He studied in SAE Institute for taking graduation in Audio Engineering and Music Production. After completing the graduation course, he worked in the films Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Ye Maaya Chesave, Nadunisi Naaygal, Pizza (2012 film), Soodhu Kavvum, Pizza II: Villa, Jigarthanda. He started his acting stint with a short film "Cling-Cling" followed by "Neram-short film" in which he was the protagonist pitched up against Simha(as Vatti Raja). ^[4]

Film career

Shabareesh's first film was the bilingual (Malayalam / Tamil) Neram directed by Alphonse Puthren. In the Tamil version, he played the role 'John' and in Malayalam version is sang the song "Thaka thaka" along with "Pistah", which was there in both the languages. In 2015 he became part of the blockbuster Malayalam movie 'Premam' as a lyricist, singer and actor. He wrote the lyrics for 7 songs, sung 5 of them and played the character 'Shambu' in the film.
