Seventeen is a documentary film by Joel DeMott and Jeff Kreines. It won the Grand Prize at the Ann Arbor Film Festival as well as the Grand Jury Prize: Documentary at the 1985 Sundance Film Festival. (The jurors were D.A. Pennebaker, Fred Wiseman, and Barbara Kopple.)
The recent DVD release is not the filmmakers' version -- it's said to be an ugly- looking and censored rendition of their film -- to be avoided.
