Sergey Valentinovich Kudryavtsev (Russian: Серге́й Валенти́нович Кудря́вцев) is a Russian film critic and film historian.
He graduated from film history Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 1978. A worked in the office of the Soviet cinema at VGIK in 1980–1983 years.
Since 1987 - the film critic. He has published several handbooks on the activities of domestic and world cinema. Author of "500 films" (1991), "+500" (1994), "The last 500" (1996), "His movie" (1998), the reviews book "3500" (2008).[2]
He taught history and theory of cinema at VGIK in 1994-1998, a lecturer at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors (since 2005), the Institute of Contemporary Art (since 2008). Three times winner of the Russian Guild of Film Critics.[3]
