Serbia competed at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009, held in Kiev, Ukraine. RTS held a national final to select the fourth Serbian entry for the contest in September 2009. The winner of pre-selection and Serbian representative in Kiev was the group Ništa Lično with pop-rock song "Onaj pravi". The group members are Anica Cvetković, the leading vocal, Aleksandar Graić, composer and pianist, who is a son of composer of "Molitva", winning song of Eurovision Song Contest 2007, Una Krlić and Karolina Lodi, as the guitarists and Petar Cvetković, Anica's brother, with drums.

RTS received 60 songs for the participation in the contest. A selection committee of music editors from RTS picked 10 songs that competed in the televised final.[1][2]

Before the contest,on some web sites,pulls and media researching, public favourites were Boško Baloš, Jelena Krvavac, Emilija Marković, Marija Ugrica and the winners Ništa Lično. The national final took place in the studio 9 of the RTS Studios in Košutnjak on 19 September 2009. The winner was chosen by jury and televoting.
Angelina & Jelisaveta
Angelina and Jelisaveta are sisters from Vršac. Song Sestrice is a faster ballade about sister love and helping each other with boys. They finished the last.
Boško Baloš
Boško Baloš is 11 and he is from Novi Sad. He was the youngest participant and only performing boy also. Song Mali is an interesting composition of singing, dancing, rapping and spelling. It has a general melody which goes through the whole song. It's about himself who hates to be called the little one so he decides to do something big to impress everybody. He finished in 4th place.
Emilija Marković
Emilija Marković is 13 and she is from Vranje. She participated in 2008. also with a beautiful ballade Ljubav. Song Magija is an interesting composition of ballade,pop,jazz and national Serbian music including the trumpets from Serbia in the instrumental witch was made by Dušan Popović Tillco who wrote Nevena Božović's too. Song is about magic that she feels every time she gets close to her love. She finished 8th, surprising everyone, same as Marija Ugrica's case.
Isidora Otašević
Isidora is 12 and she is from Novi Sad. She participated in 2007 final with her sister finishing 2nd. Song Dečaci is a jazz song about what the boys do and their mistakes. Isidora finished 7th.
Jelena Krvavac
Jelena is 13 and she is from Belgrade. Song Bez tebe is a love ballad about girl who wants to forget her ex-boyfriend,but she can't, she still loves him and it so painful to watch him with another girl. She had a good performance with 3 girls following her as backing vocals and she finished in 5th place.
Marija Ugrica
Marija is 14 and she is from Belgrade. This was her third time competing in Serbian national final for JESC. Song Hajde da sanjamo is a great kids-rhythm song about dreaming of perfect love and friendship. Marija got sick day before contest and she had problems with her voice on the contest day. Followed by great dancers and audience applause, surprisingly she finished 9th.
Nastasija Škorić Staša
Staša is 11 and she is from Pančevo. Song Duh is a kids-rock song and it's about a ghost from a lamp that tells her what to do,and she starts to dislike him, so she has problems with him. That ghost is a metaphor for her love boy. She got 12 from jury, but she missed public votes, so she finished in 2nd place.
Ništa Lično
Ništa Lično are Anica, Sale, Una, Karolina and Petar and they are from different cities in Serbia. Song Onaj pravi is a pop-rock song about first teenage love, about a girl who finally found a boy from her dreams and fell in love with him. They won the competition and represented Serbia at JESC where they finished on 10th place, even though they were favourites.
Hana & Lana
Hana and Lana are from Belgrade. Song Budi svoj is a rock-ballade about being yourself is the best way to improve and be happy. With the rhythmic-gymnastics players behind them on the stage they attracted audience and they finished 6th.
Čuće se
Čuće se are Lenka,Minja and Minja from Belgrade and they are 11. Their song Veštice is about dreaming to be witches and doing stuff as normal witches do. Interesting performance and good vocals gave them 3th place.
