The Avast SecureLine VPN is a subscription based Virtual Private Network (VPN) developed by Avast Software. It is available on Android, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and iOS.[1] The premise of the software is to secure connection to public Wi-Fi systems to stop hackers getting into the user's computer.[2] Similar to other VPN's, SecureLine works by making the user appear in a different place via changing the users IP address, bypassing internet censorship for the country the user is in or Wi-Fi the user is using.[3] The VPN automatically enables when the user connects to a public Wi-Fi.[4] SecureLine is trialware: free for the first seven days, and then a payment of US$79.95 per year is required.
