Secondary Schools Examination Council
The Secondary Schools Examination Council (SSEC) was established in England in 1917 in the and was succeeded by the Schools Council in 1963.[1] It existed to provide external examinations for secondary schools at the recommendation of the Consultative Committee, with universities acting as responsible bodies for conducting any of the examinations.
