Scraps (batter)

Chips with scraps

Scraps is a term used in England which refers to left over batter that has been deep-fried and is served as an accompaniment to chips,[1] They are traditionally served free of charge with chips in fish and chip shops.[2] In some parts of the North, they are referred to as 'bits'[3] or 'batter'.
