Saulo Cavalari (born in 1989) is a Brazilian light heavyweight kickboxer, fighting out of Thai Brasil team in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. He has competed in K-1 Rising and is currently signed to GLORY, where he is the current Glory Light Heavyweight Champion. He is ranked the #2 light heavyweight kickboxer in the world by Liverkick.com on 15 August 2015.[1][2]

Biography and career

After achieving impressive fighting record and winning numerous titles he faced Pavel Zhuravlev in a non-tournament bout at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2012 in Tokyo Final 16 on October 14, 2012[3][4] and lost via unanimous decision.[5]

In 2013 he signed for GLORY promotion, joining light heavyweight division, making his debout on Glory 11: Chicago event, winning on points against highly ranked Filip Verlinden on October 12.[6][7][8]

On November 23, 2013 he knocked out Mourad Bouzidi in first round at Glory 12: New York undercard in New York City, New York.[9][10][11]

Competing for the inaugural Glory Light Heavyweight Championship, he fought in the Glory 15: Istanbul - Light Heavyweight World Championship Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey on April 12, 2014, losing to Tyrone Spong via unanimous decision in the semi-finals.[12][13][14]

CAvalari had a rematch with Mwekassa for the vacant Glory Light Heavyweight Championship at at Bellator MMA & Glory: Dynamite 1 on September 19, 2015.[15] He won the fight via unanimous decision.
