The Saudi Railway Company (SAR) is one of two state-owned company that operates Saudi Arabia's rail network.
SAR operate the 2750 km. north-south railway line and a passenger line from Riyadh to Al-Haditha, Saudi Arabia, nearby the Jordanian border.[1]
SAR was established in 2006 to build, operate, and manage the north-south railway project.[2]
Network
The SAR rail network consist of the following main lines:
- SAR Riyadh-Qurayyat Line: Riyadh, Majma'a, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jawf, and Al-Qurayyat, used by passenger trains.
- SAR North South Railway Line: Riyadh, Sudair, Qassim, Hail, Ras Al-Khair, Jubail, Al-Jawf, Al-Basaita, and Al-Haditha., used by freight trains [3]

COMPOSITION: 4 trainsets 280m length (Mc-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-Mc) and 2 trainsets 381m length (Mc-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-Mc). Spanish manufacturer CAF has in delivered 2013 delivered six diesel push-pull train, 4 nine-car trainsets is for daytime train schedule and 2 thirteen-car trainsets for night train. They are used on the Riyadh-Qurayyat Line.[4][5] |
