Sathwik Rai
Sathwik Rai ( born June 8, 1978) is a Racquetball player from India who has played for the Indian racquetball team at two Racquetball World Championships. He captained Team India at the 2012 Racquetball World Championships and 2010 Racquetball World Championships [1]
Born and raised in Bangalore, India, Sathwik [2] started playing racquetball only after he moved to the US for graduate school at Drexel University in Philadelphia at the age of 26. He attended Bishop Cotton Boys' School in Bangalore and is an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka. During his school years, Sathwik was a competitive swimmer and has represented India at the junior level.[3] Currently, Sathwik works as a full time consultant at a pharmaceutical company and is a part time business student at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri.[4]
The Indian racquetball team finished 13th overall at both the 2012 Racquetball World Championships and 2010 Racquetball World Championships.[5]
Sathwik [6] played in the Men's Singles at the 2010 edition and made his debut at a World championship in Seoul, Korea against Canadian Kris Odegard. He lost in the second round and finished 29th overall in his debut World Championships in 2010. The 2010 Team India also included Raaj Mohan and Srikaran Kandadai
Sathwik [7] played doubles in the Team and Individual event at the 2012 Racquetball World Championships teaming up with Nirup Shetty.
