Santa Maria la Fossa is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Caserta in the Italian region Campania, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northwest of Naples and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Caserta. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,751 and an area of 29.5 square kilometres (11.4 sq mi).[1]
