The club was founded in 1927 as A.C. Sangiovannese 1927.

Seasons from 2000-01 to 2010-11

It has played in Serie C2 from 2000–01, after the promotion from Serie D, to 2003-04 when it was promoted in Serie C1. It has played in this league until 2007-08 when it was relegated to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione, where it has played for three season until 2010-11.

It didn't join 2011-12 league 2011-12 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione.[2]

It is refounded in 2011 as A.S.D. SanGiovanniValdarno.[3]

In the 2013-14 season it was promoted to Serie D after play off.
