Jæren District Court

Jæren District Court (Norwegian: Jæren tingrett) is a Court of First Instance in Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway, under Gulating Court of Appeal. The court is the result of the merger of former Jæren District Court, and Sandnes and Forsand municipalities from Ryfylke District Court in 2006.[1]


The Court is located in Sandnes Courthouse in Olav V's plass in Sandnes, Norway and covers the municipalities Sandnes, Gjesdal, Forsand, Klepp, Time and . Jæren court also covered Sola until 1 July 2007, when Ryfylke District Court merged with Stavanger District Court and the Sola was transferred to it. Jæren District Court has seven courtrooms and eleven judges.

Before 2006, the Jæren District Court was a court of the first instance for Hå, Sola, Klepp and Time, and was located on Bryne in Time municipality.
