Sandeep Acharya (4 February 1984 – 15 December 2013) was an Indian Singer . He came in news after winning the second season of the popular reality television show Indian Idol in 2006. Acharya belonged to Bikaner in Rajasthan.[1] He died on 15 December 2013 in Gurgaon's Medanta Hospital.[2]
Awards
Acharya was runner up in the Golden Voice of India.
He was the winner of India Idol Season 2 on 22 April 2006.[3]
Acharya's win gained him a ₹10 million contract from Sony BMG, a music album contract and a brand new Maruti Baleno car. Sandeep also participated in a TV show on channel 9X - Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1 on Mika's team.
Performed in a three-day event in London at the Asian Life Style Show with various actors and performers.
Shared stage with Mr Amitabh Bachchan in Leicester, 2006
Sandeep won the award for best new Bollywood talent in New Jersey, USA.
He won the Sur Aradhna award in Delhi's Siri Fort Auditorium for best upcoming male singer category.
Won an award by Music Academy, presented by the CM of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot.

Death
Acharya died following an illness that caused jaundice on 15 December 2013. He was rushed to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon near New Delhi after his health deteriorated.[1] He was at a wedding in Bikaner when his situation worsened and his relatives had to rush him to the hospital, where he died. His younger brother informed media on his death, "Last night, doctors said his condition was under control and he was showing signs of recovery. We were all hoping we'd soon take him home. But nobody knew that he would leave us forever." [4]
