Samir Kochhar has been rated one of the 50 most good-looking men in India. An actor and host, Samir has two commercial releases in 2016 - Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 3[1] with Akshay Kumar and Jaanam[2] with Karanvir Bohra directed by Lalit Mohan.

Career

Kocchar started his career with Doordarshan AIDS awareness cum travel show "Haath Se Haath Mila" where he anchored the show with Sugandha Garg He made his Bollywood film debut in 2003 in an English / Hindi Bilingual "VALENTINE DAYS" which was a film by Sumeer Sabharwal.

Always known to traverse uncharted territory, Samir had a firecracker Television debut with the first ever-revolutionary talk show on sex, ‘Dangerous’ which was broadcast on Zoom. He combined revolutionary content and mass appeal to woo audiences as the enchanting Rajat Kapur in Bade Acche Lagte Hain, a TV soap resonant in every household in India. Samir is known to pick his roles as skillfully as his IPL oratory. His Bollywood debut – Zeher[3] (2005) - with ace director Mahesh Bhatt at its helm went on to set the box office ringing, followed by Jannat[4] (2008) from the Bhatt team once again.

He has also successfully courted alternative cinema and is a proud part of Island City directed by Ruchika Oberoi that received rave reviews at the Venice International Film Festival as well as the JIO MAMI Film Festival 2015 in Mumbai. Samir will also be seen in Mango Dreams, a feature film set in India, directed by American director John Unchurch.[5]

Samir is also a part of the CCL (Celebrity Cricket League) team Mumbai Tigers.

Personal life

Samir married his longtime girlfriend Radhika on 9 January 2010 and in April 2015, they became first-time parents to a baby boy whom they named Kabir.Samir is dapper in his sartorial choices and gained massive fan following for his formal attire during his entire IPL tenure. His style is a mix of effortless and quirk. He is also a keen fitness and yoga enthusiast. With many feathers in his cap, Samir also possesses a travel junkie persona and a guitar that comes out quite often when the music bug strikes.[6]
