Sam Potolicchio
Sam Potolicchio(/pɒtɒˈlɪkɪɒ/) is Director of Global and Custom Education at Georgetown. He is also the Distinguished Professor and Department Chair of Political Communications at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration[1][2] School of Public Policy, the largest university in Europe,[3] and is President of the Preparing Global Leaders Foundation,[4] an international leadership training program with campuses in Russia, Macedonia, Jordan and the United States. Dr. Potolicchio is a Visiting Professor at Georgetown[5] and New York University.[6] Potolicchio is also the academic director for Georgetown’s Global Visiting Student Program[7] and a lecturer at Georgetown's Global Education Initiative, where he lectures to high-level government officials and businessmen from China and Japan. He is the official lecturer on American Federalism for the Open World Leadership program at the Library of Congress, where he speaks weekly to visiting dignitaries from the post-Soviet republics. Potolicchio’s book chapters on Religion and Politics have been published in volumes by Congressional Quarterly Press and Oxford University Press. Dr. Potolicchio is a founding faculty member of top-level leadership programs in Serbia, Albania, Croatia and Hungary. He advises top political officials, business leaders, and governments.
Potolicchio was named by the Princeton Review as one of the “Best Professors in America” in 2012, the only one chosen from his field.[8] He has won numerous teaching awards at Georgetown and the K. Patricia Cross Award from the American Association of Colleges and Universities as one of the future leaders of American higher education in 2011.[9]
He has delivered keynote lectures internationally at over 150 different universities in 40 countries including Oxford, Yale, Sorbonne, Brown, Cambridge, Dartmouth and Bologna.
He received a bachelor of arts in Psychology from Georgetown, masters in Theological Studies from Harvard, and a bachelors, masters and doctorate from Georgetown in Government.
Potolicchio also serves as the scholar-in-residence at the Landon School[10] and as a basketball coach has guided his team, the Jelleff Hoyas to 6 undefeated championship seasons.[11][12][13]
