Samuel Alexander "Sam" Muggleton (born 17 November 1995) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for Barnet. He is the son of former footballer Carl Muggleton.

Career

Muggleton began his career at Leicester City, where he played for four seasons at various youth levels before being released. After this, he joined Holwell Sports, where he played for the first team in the East Midlands Counties League. Aged 16, he signed a two-year scholarship with Gillingham in November 2012.[2][3] He made his professional debut for Gillingham on the final day of the 2012–13 season as the Gills were crowned champions of Football League Two, a 3–2 away defeat at Burton Albion. Muggleton joined Barnet on loan on 27 March 2014 until the end of the season.[4] After six appearances, he returned to Gillingham.[5] He was released by Gillingham at the end of the 2013–14 season,[6] and re-joined Barnet on a permanent basis on 16 May 2014.[7]
