Salmas County (Persian: شهرستان سلماس) in kurdish Salvaz is a county in West Azarbaijan Province in Iran.[1] The capital of the county is Salmas. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 180,708 .[2] The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Kuhsar District. The county has two cities: Salmas and Tazeh Shahr.
