Salford City Academy (formerly Canon Williamson C.E. High School, and before that Eccles C.E. High School) is a state comprehensive high school and academy situated in the Peel Green area of Eccles, in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. Salford City Academy (known locally as Salford Academy) opened in 2006 after substantial redevelopment. The school, sponsored by United Learning, currently holds training school status.

A brand new sixth form opened in September 2007, catering for 200 pupils. It was developed at a cost of £1.8 million.

School day timetable

Unlike most schools in the United Kingdom, Salford Academy's school day timetable used to vary depending on what day it was:

But over the past few years the time table has changed and now every school day starts at 8:35 am and ends at 3:00 pm.

On some days some of the pupils join in 'Enrichment' which starts at 3:00 pm and can end from 3:30 to 4:30 pm depending on the activity that the pupil is participating in.

Standards

The school was judged "inadequate" in a 2014 Ofsted report.[1] In 2015 the school was judged to be "good" by Ofsted which improved from its previous "inadequate" rating the previous year.
