Sahaya International

Sahaya International, Inc. is a non-profit organization, based in Davis, California. Sahaya International consists of a diverse network of friends committed to making a difference towards improving the quality of life in third world countries. Through volunteer efforts, Sayaha International provides much-needed assistance to social development projects in developing countries. In November 1999, they obtained federal approval as an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization.[1]

Sahaya International was founded by Koen Van Rompay, a virologist at the University of California, Davis.

Currently the organization focuses on providing support to several grassroots programs in India, Vietnam, Philippines, Kenya and Sri Lanka.

In 2013, the completed a short documentary, Sahaya Going Beyond,[2] about their programs in India. The movie is narrated by Jeremy Irons, and with theme song by Enya.
