Rusava is a village and municipality (obec) in Kroměříž District in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic.

The municipality covers an area of 12.03 square kilometres (4.64 sq mi), and has a population of 598 (as at 3 July 2006).

Rusava lies approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) east of Kroměříž, 13 km (8 mi) north of Zlín, and 250 km (155 mi) east of Prague.

The village is set in valley surrounded by "Hostynske Vrchy". It is a beautiful looking village, where you can enjoy activities such as hill walking, summer pool swimming, horse riding, ski riding, cross-country skiing, mountain biking and many more. It used to be destination where the village was transformed from population five hundred to five thousand over the season in the past. Rusava is a much more quieter place now, however the opportunity to enjoy holiday with so many activities, it is one of the best spots to go, see and enjoy in the Moravia region.

Rusava is known and a home for local liquid "Slivovica". It is a tradition passed from generation to generation for home making spirits from plums. These days the law does not allow to make it home anymore and instead Rusavonian has to go to local distillery for the final stage. The procedure remains same, where every family has its own recipe for the best one.

Rusava might be a small village, however there are many pubs, hotels, or places where to get decent accommodation. A survey has been done to get the proper number for places where you can get a pint of beer from. The number gets to twelve in the peak season, and to half of the number off-peak.

A museum with the history of the village is also recommended.

There is a couple local shops, the one recommended is "Smisene Zbozi Bartkova", it is run by local residents for over two decades.
