Brigadier Rupert Timothy Herbert Jones CBE is a senior British Army officer.
Military career
Jones was born in Germany to H. Jones and Sara Jones. He attended St. Peter's Preparatory School in Seaford, Sussex and Sherborne School. He later read History at Reading University. He trained at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst before serving with his father’s former regiment, the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment. He served as commanding officer of 4th Battalion, The Rifles, during which the battalion deployed as part of Operation Herrick. He was given command of 1st Armoured Infantry Brigade where he commanded British forces in Afghanistan from April to October 2013.
Personal life
He is married to Lucinda Jones and has 3 children.
