Ruediger John (born 1971 in Vienna) is an Austrian artist.

He creates situative, installative, interventionistic, research- and publication-oriented works.[1]

Since 2000 Ruediger John is teaching at different universities[2][3][4] and academies; a.o. 2001-2003 als Artistic-Scientific Assistant, Assistant Professor for situative, installative working, Context, Cognition, Mixed-Media at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (State Academy of Fine Arts and Design Stuttgart) and in further guest lectures and as visiting professor. 2002-2003 Professor in substitution for Art/Art- and Design Sciences at Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, Design and Economy Pforzheim.[5] 2004-2005 Visiting Professor for Kunst und Wirtschaft - Transferkunst, Systemische Kunst, künstlerische Forschung (Art and Economy - Transfer Art, Systemic Art, Artistic Research) at Universität der Künste Berlin (Institut for Art in Context, University of the Arts Berlin), as well as at the Center for Applied Cultural Sciences and Studium Generale at Universität Karlsruhe.[6] He is founder of Gesellschaft für kritische Ästhetik (Society for Critical Aesthetics) (2003).

Ruediger John studied at State Academy of Fine Arts and Design Stuttgart (MFA) and invited to Columbia University and New York University, New York City (affiliate/guest).
