Rose Mary (Rosemary Mushtaq) is a Pakistani singer who has appeared on two reality programs. She was first known for her appearance on the Pak-Indo reality show Chhote Ustaad which she finished in fourth position. Rose is a trained classical singer who hails from a non-musical background. Currently she is one of the 13 finalist of Pakistani reality singing competition Pakistan Idol.[2]

Personal life

Mary was born as Rosemary Mushtaq to a Christian family in Karachi, Pakistan. At the age of seven she sought music training in the classical genre, with the support of her father she has taken part in reality shows and music competitions at the regional, national and international level.

Chhote Ustaad

Mary is perhaps best known for her appearance on the reality show Chhote Ustaad. Chhote Ustadd is a singing contest in which ten contestants from Pakistan and ten contestanst from India compete for a title in the form of a pair with one person from Pakistan and another from India. The show was judged by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sonu Nigam. Rose was paired with Shyamantan and eliminated on 5 November 2010, finishing in fourth position.

Pakistan Idol

Mary auditioned for Pakistan Idol via Clear Last Chance Auditions.[3] She is currently a finalist among the top 13. She is the youngest of all contestants in Idol. She has been heavily praised by judges and the audience.[4][5]
