Ronnie Fieg
Aaron 'Ronnie' Fieg is a New York-based sneaker colorist and fashion designer. He is best known for his frequent collaborations with Asics and Sebago and his apparel and footwear store KITH NYC.
Early life
Ronnie Fieg was born and raised in Brentwood, Long Island. Fieg began working as a stock boy and salesman for footwear chain David Z, owned by his mother's first cousin at the age of 13. He eventually became the assistant manager, manager and buyer for David Z.[1][2]
Sneaker Collaboration
Fieg's first collaboration was with Asics in 2007, where he designed 252 pairs of three different colors of the Gel Lyte III sneaker. Fieg would go on to maintain his relationship with Asics, and has consistently collaborated on many shoes since.[1]
Fieg has collaborated with other brands such as Adidas, Caminando, Chippewa, Clarks, Converse, Harris Tweed, Herschel Supply, New Balance, Polo Ralph Lauren, PUMA,[3] Red Wings, Saucony, Sebago, Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen, Timberland and more. His total number of collaborations is guessed at over 50 products or more, making him one of the most prolific sneaker designers/collaborators of all time.[4]
Kith NYC
On November 11, 2011, Ronnie Fieg opened up his own apparel and footwear boutique called Kith NYC.There are currently two locations, in Brooklyn and Manhattan.[5][6] Kith carries brands like Stampd, Timberland, Adidas, Red Wing, Clarks, Asics, Danner, New Balance, Nike, Gourmet, and Native Footwear.[7]
In August of 2015, Fieg relaunched his Brooklyn store with a $2 million renovation. The new space features a cereal bar that launched the Kith Treats business, 750 cast white Air Jordan 2s hanging from the ceiling and overall design by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen of the firm Snarkitecture.[8] Kith Treats is Brooklyn's first cereal bar[9] and boasts 23 types of cereal to mix with 25 assorted toppings and 5 different milks.[10] Ice cream is available as well.
