Roman "Thunder" Mailov (Ukrainian: Роман Майлов) is a Muay Thai kickboxer from Ukraine. He is World champion of kickboxing W-5 2011, World champion of WPKA 2008, 2011

Biography and career

Roman Mailov started boxing at age twelve. His trener Ruslan Krivusha from Poltava.

He defeated Armin Pumpanmuang Windy Sport by KO due to a knee to the body at W5 Fighter 8 in Moscow, Russia on November 8, 2012.[1][2]

In December 2012, Mailov signed with the Glory promotion.[3]

He ended 2012 with a perfect 9-0 record when he beat Fikri Arican at W5 Fighter 10 in Moscow on December 23, 2012. The fight was scheduled to go to an extension round but Arican refused to continue and Mailov was awarded the TKO victory.[4]

Mailov replaced Houcine Bennoui as a competitor in the Krush Grand Prix 2013 ~67 kg Tournament~ and was expected to face Yuta Kubo in the quarter-finals in Tokyo, Japan in January 14, 2013.[5][6] However, he sustained an injury in training and was himself replaced by TaCa.[7]

He was expected to fight Ismail Uzuner at Glory 6: Istanbul in Istanbul, Turkey on April 6, 2013[8] but was replaced by Max Baumert.[9]
