Roman Catholicism in Tristan da Cunha
The Catholic Church in Tristan da Cunha is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope and the Curia in Rome. Together with the islands of Saint Helena and Ascension, it forms a mission sui iuris (an independent mission). St. Joseph's Catholic Church (37°04′01″S 12°18′42″W / 37.067°S 12.3118°W), built in 1995–1996 to replace a smaller church on the same site,[1] is located in Edinburgh of the Seven Seas, the main settlement of the island of Tristan da Cunha, and is the seat of the parish.
