The Roman Catholic Church in Mozambique is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome.

There are over four million Catholics in Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony. The country is divided into twelve dioceses including three archdioceses.

The first mission was started by Portuguese Franciscans in 1500.[1]
