The Roman Catholic Diocese of Jeonju (Latin: Dioecesis Ieoniuensis) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church located in Jeonju, South Korea. It is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Gwangju.

History

On 13 April 1937 Pope Pius XI established the Prefecture Apostolic of Zenshu. Pope Pius XII changed its name to the Prefecture Apostolic of Chonju on 12 July 1950. The prefecture was elevated to a Vicariate Apostolic on 21 January 1957. It was elevated to a diocese by Pope John XXIII on 10 March 1962.[1][2]
