The Roc City Thunder were a professional indoor football team based in suburban Rochester, New York. The team was founded in 2012 and played home games at the Gordon Field House on the campus of Rochester Institute of Technology in Henrietta, New York.
The team was originally announced as a member of American Indoor Football, but left that league prior to the start of the season due to the team owner suffering a severe illness. Its 2013 schedule consisted of an independent lineup of amateur and semi-professional teams. Its roster consists entirely of players who have played high school football in the Rochester and Genesee Valley region.
The Thunder ceased operations after the Rochester Raiders, the city's previous indoor football franchise, announced its return for the 2014 season.
