Robert Wolf (business)

Robert Wolf (born March 8, 1962)^[1] is a former President and Chief Operating Officer of UBS Investment Bank, as well as Chairman and CEO of UBS's Group Americas division.^[2]

He was a member of UBS's Group Executive Board from 2008-2010.^[3] Mr. Wolf is a friend of United States President Barack Obama.^[4]

After serving as a major contributor and fundraiser for the Obama 2008 US presidential campaign,^[5][6][7][8] Wolf was appointed a member of President Obama's President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness from 2011-2013, and served as a member of the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board from 2009-2011. Wolf served on the Homeland Security Advisory Council's Border Infrastructure Task Force in 2012, and in June 2013, the White House appointed Wolf to the President’s Export Council.

The name 32 Advisors, LLC, pays homage to the number on Wolf's jersey when he played football at the University of Pennsylvania.^[9]

Biography

From 2002 to 2004, while at UBS, Wolf was Global Head of Fixed Income and previously, from 1998 to 2001, Global Head of Credit Trading, Research & Distribution.

Wolf joined UBS AG in 1994 after ten years at Salomon Brothers working in Fixed Income.^[10] He graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. While at Penn, he played on the varsity football team that won Ivy League Championships in both the 1982 and 1983 seasons and was an honoree into the Ivy Football Association in 2013.

Activities

He is a member of the Undergraduate Executive Board of Wharton School, and the Athletics Board of Overseers of UPENN . He is in the Executive Leadership Council of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Norwalk, CT. Wolf is on the Board of Directors of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights

Wolf also sits on the board of the Partnership for NYC, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and is a graduate member of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy. As well, Wolf serves on the advisory committee of the global digital technology company, Wisekey, and the board of the public company Diamond Resorts International. Wolf served on the board of trustees of the Children's Aid Society from 2002 to 2013, and on the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Roundtable from 2007 to 2010. Wolf hosted the show "Impact Players" on the Reuters Channel on YouTube TV from September 2012 to April 2013.

Political Contributions

During the 2004 US presidential election campaign, Wolf was a contributor to the Kerry campaign.^[11] During the 2008 US presidential election campaign, Wolf became a major contributor and a fundraiser for the Obama campaign:^{[12][6][13] [14]}

Awards and Titles

Wolf was honored with the Corporate Leadership Award at the 2007 Fall Gala alongside Spirit of Hope award recipient, Lance Armstrong.^[15] On October 12, 2011, Wolf was the recipient of the Prmise Award by the Children's Aids Society, for his commitment to helping children living in poverty thrive and succeed.^[16] Wolf was also honored at the Ivy League Football Association dinner in February 2013 as UPenn's representative.

Personal

Wolf grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts and is in the town's Athletics Hall of Fame. His wife, Carol, is a corporate attorney who is currently the Director of Special Projects for the RFK Center. They have 2 children and reside in Purchase, New York.
