Robert Bondi

Robert J. Bondi (born June 28, 1947) was Putnam County, New York's third County Executive. According to the Charter, in Putnam County the County Executive also serves as the Chief Budget Officer of the county. Mr Bondi left the service of his community at the end of his term in December 2010.

Bondi was initially elected to public office in November 1979 and was elected to be Chairman of the County Legislature in 1980. He held the office of County Legislator for six terms before assuming his present position.

Bondi was also elected as President of the New York State Association of County Executives. Prior to his governmental service, Bondi was employed at Western Connecticut State University where he served as the Chairman of the Finance Department and was a tenured professor in the Ancell School of Business Administration. Previous positions held include Assistant Dean of Iona College and Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Business of New York University.
