Rising Stars Philippines is a karaoke - based singing competition airing on TV5 starting last March 14, 2015 at 10pm.a singing contest wherein judges are told what to do and ask them choose risingstar's bet,That's why Mr. Jimmy Bondoc left the show because of that. It was a local contest before it was finally aired on television. Before they roam around the country, having booth inside the malls and online auditions were added as well, to find the best online singing sensation from all around the country. The selected finalists soon were revealed through online Voting, (Judges choice, Top voter & best performance).The finalists will then have a mall show where the winners will be revealed. Until it was famous enough to be launched, Venus Raj and Ogie Alcasid take the role as the hosts of the show. Jaya and Papa Jack served as casual judges and Nina, and Jimmy Bondoc as guest judges. Jimmy Bondoc was an official casual judge until he left due to personal reasons. Anna Feliciano served as the show's coach. On the finale, Ms. Gwen Albarracin, the President and CEO of the Center for Pop and Ms. Wilma Galvante,the Chief Entertainment Content Officer of TV5 served as guest judges. The network initially planned to air the program on both Saturday and Sunday nights at 9pm. But due to the network's crowded Sunday lineup, Rising Stars instead aired on Saturday nights only, moving Call Me Papa Jack to Sundays at 10pm.[1][2][3][4]
The 16-year-old Rocelle Solquillo eventually won the first season for winning 3 straight weeks and closely defeating Krezia Mae Tonacao, Lee'Anna Layumas who came 3rd and Remy Luntayao who came 4th respectively.
Format
The Auditions were held around the Philippines, from Metro Manila to Mindanao. No age limit were required to join, as long as contestants can sing and have a 'rising star' quality. A recording booth like studio were scattered around the country known as the Audition caravan is the venue of the auditions. Auditions were also available through online and mobile application,.In mobile application auditions, an auditioner must download the risingstars mobile karaoke and use it while singing and recording themselves from it. Among all the contestants, 35 lucky singing aspirants were selected to be on the show through online auditions and auditions around the country. Every week contestants will face different challenges. Contestants will sing on the live stage with the judges and audience in front of them. after they sing, they will be called one by one and they will be informed if they had made it to the top 16. on the top 8 of the show, they had launched a new twist, where in a contender will challenge a Finalist to take a spot on his/her slot.
Prizes
The winner will receive 500,000 pesos worth of gift certificates, Smart talk & text freebies, 100,000 worth of beauty products and services from Jancen Clinic and the Vine aesthetics, a free tuition at center for pop school and a trip to Hong Kong and a recording contract. the runner-up also receive same prizes, 250,000 pesos and 50,000 worth of beauty products and services, as well as the 3rd placer got 100,000 pesos and 25,000 worth of beauty products and services.

- Chiastine Faye 'Cha' Perez - 25, Laguna
A professional dancer for a popular noontime show, Chiastine has been in the limelight for the past 8 years. While she loves to express herself through dancing, her favorite hobby has always been singing. Upon hearing about RisingStars, she took a video and submitted via the mobile application. Fortunately, the single mother of 2 was chosen to become one of the finalists from the mobile auditions. She believes that while she may not be as good in terms of singing, she can project songs differently – an advantage she holds in this new venture. Chiastine and Victoria is the only finalists who made it to the top 16, who auditioned online/mobile.
- Mia Barbra 'Barbie' Derilo - 27, Iloilo
A graduate of Medical Laboratory Science, one would not expect 27-year-old Barbie from Iloilo to be a musical instrument-playing, karate-skilled kind of girl, but that’s what she is. She also loves to cook, which is her bonding session with mom, whom she also considers like a sister and best friend. Barbie’s dad is a marine engineer and works overseas, but he spends time with his family whenever he comes home. He taught her how to play the guitar. Overall, Barbie has a happy family, save for the time she and her husband got separated three years ago, and she is thankful that her parents were there for her and her son. Her day job is a medical technician—Barbie shares that someone has died while she was extracting his blood sample, and this really made her cry—but her dream job is to be a singer and a chef, because these are the things that really make her happy.
- Dave Alcano - 21, Cebu
Hailing from Cebu, Dave the total performer has all talents maximized to provide for a very big family. With 10 siblings all living in a small house, Dave sees the use of these talents as part of the solution for their financial crisis. Having 5 brothers and 5 sisters, Dave shares their plight through song- as both male and female. This has helped in developing a career as a comedian, one that Dave has utilized in helping out and making this dreamer’s family happy. A breadwinner at 21, Dave aims to make them proud through winning this competition.
- Duane David - 19, Batangas
Duane was just accompanying her friend in the mall when they came across the RisingStars recording booth. After being convinced to try her mettle, she found herself competing in the NCR Finals. Undaunted after her loss, the 19-year-old continued to persevere. She believes that this is her second chance, and with improvements and discoveries gained, it could be the opportunity she has been waiting for. A part-time model and writer/actress for short films, this Arts Communication and Journalism student is here to prove that she’s worthy of being in the big stage.
- Joselito 'Bon' Gustillo Jr - 28, Manila
A band vocalist from Cavite, Joselito “Bon-bon” Gustilo Jr. has had his fair share of challenges that he bases his performances on. At 16, he got his girlfriend pregnant. Later on, he was forced to drop out from college after his first year. And just recently, he lost his mom after a bout with colon cancer. One thing remained constant through it all- his expression through song. Now 28 and with four children, he sees his job in entertaining as his comfort zone. He still aspires to become a professional singer, and believes that this is what can lead him there.
- Karl Zarate - 20, Manila
As a child of fish dealers, the life of 20-year-old Karl has had its share of ups and downs. Their business became bankrupt and his family has yet to recover, so he started taking gigs to earn a living. Having already tried to enter a call center, he felt that the pay was not enough reason to stay. With appearances on several TV shows and a growing presence on the web, he has been able to pursue his passions while contributing to his family’s needs. Karl aims to be the kind of performer Bruno Mars is, and he hopes to show that even more through Rising Stars. He is a contestant before on Pop star kids on Q-TV.
- Krezia Mae Tonacao - 13, Metro Manila
A grade 7 student who is fond of writing short stories, Krezia Mae packs more to her petite frame. With a very powerful voice, she has been winning contests in school and in their barangay since she was 10.She is not deserving to win the spot.
- Lee'Anna Justine Weber Layumas - 22, Bacolod
The last time 22-year-old Lean saw her mom was 10 years ago, when she was singing onstage during a contest. Her mom did not even say goodbye. From then, Lean and her four siblings grew up in Bacolod with their dad, a nurse, until he had to leave to work in the UK. Looking back. Lean realizes they were better off, as she used to see her parents fight and scream at each other every day. She used to be close to her mom until she left, and now, Lean is close to her sister Cattien, the only other girl in the household. The BS Hospitality Management graduate of St. Lasalle has qualified for various local and national competitions, and though she has yet to triumph as a grand champion, Lean keeps dreaming big and that’s why she joined Rising Stars PH. She wants to be a singer-songwriter someday
- Lucas Nicco Garcia - 16, Batangas
The pride of Batangas, Lucas packs more to his small frame. Having already topped several contests, he has grown more than his tender age of 16. His depth is shown through his ability to switch from singing pop songs to a very sincere ballad. Along with his unique sense of fashion, he stamps his class on his every performance. With endless support from his family and a growing following for every place he performs, he believes that he will be able to fulfill his dreams and become the next risingtar.
- Remy Luntayao - 15, Laguna
Despite being her family’s baby girl, 15-year-old Remy did not let that stop her from chasing after a greater purpose. As her mother was diagnosed with a serious kidney illness, she has tried to help out through her singing. She uses this as her means to give back to her loved ones, and it is definitely felt through all her performances. Definitely a girl with a big heart, Laguna’s representative continues to inspire on the Rising Stars stage.
- Robert D. 'Rob' Cozma - 48, Dagupan
Robert is no stranger to singing competitions, having been featured on national television as one of the singing sensations from Pampanga. He is well known in their community with his singing techniques, and is usually compared to Gary Valenciano in terms of his voice quality. Robert always stands out in the crowd because of his physical appearance—he is of Syrian descent, but speaks Tagalog and Kapampangan very well. He makes his living managing a shawarma stall inside a mall in their city. Robert’s family is his priority, and he dreams of having his own place for his family that they can call their home. This is his struggle, and his motivation for joining different singing competitions locally and nationwide. Rising Stars PH is Robert’s latest singing adventure towards that dream home for his family.
- Rocelle Jeanne R. Solquillo - 16, Bacolod
At 16, this petite girl with a big voice from Bacolod has an outlook and set of skills comparable to that of a grown-up’s. Apart from singing, Rocelle or Jen-jen can also rap, play the guitar and the piano, and claims to speak Korean and be a good make-up artist. Music runs in the family; Jen-jen and her older brother both sing and play the piano, and their mom is a volunteer choir conductress in church. Their dad left her to raise their children as a single mom, and Jen-jen is thankful that their grandmother has been tere to support the three of them. She seems to be able to take things in stride instead of being too emotional about everything; Jen-jen fondly recalls a time she and her brother had to stop schooling and traveled with their mom to Cebu to meet her so-called boyfriend, but the guy didn’t show up. Jen-jen’s mom got depressed, but for her, it was at least a wonderful bonding experience staying in a hotel for three days. Her talent and attitude are what she hopes would get her very far on Rising Stars PH.
- Ronnie 'Roni' Sarucam - 13, Davao
Ronnie is a 13-year-old boy who hails from Davao. Singing has been his passion ever since he was a child. He is often always accompanied by his mom, who supports Ronnie all the way. He believes that Rising Stars PH will get him one step closer towards his dream of becoming a singing sensation. In school, Ronnie was always bullied because of his physical appearance, but he did not let this hinder his goals of achieving prominence through his singing capabilities and making his family proud. Being the only son of three siblings, Ronnie makes it a point to help his mom in their small sari-sari store business in their community. He also never forgets his religious responsibilities, being a member of their church's choir and attending practices after school. Ronnie aims to keep making his family proud by doing well and achieving in academics. With Rising Stars PH as his ticket to Manila—and his ambitions, Ronnie has set out to capture the hearts of many.
- Samantha 'Sam' Hoberg - 16, Iloilo
German-Filipina Sam calls Iloilo City her home. She is currently a Grade 9 student who loves joining singing contests and does some modeling in local events. What not many people know is that Sam can do many different things: she can do different styles of singing, she can play the guitar and piano, she can dance, and she can speak German and Chinese along with Filipino and English. She joined a gymnastics competition before and broke her hand, and she considers her disqualification as a failure, but whenever she has self-doubts, she keeps in mind that her idol, Demi Lovato, stayed strong through her problems and came back strong. That’s Sam’s planned approach for Rising Stars PH. She is close with her parents and her family and love for performing is her motivation for dreaming big
- Victoria Ingram - 18, Cebu
Born in New Jersey, this half-American, half-Filipino has always embraced her roots. A nursing student and part-time ramp model from Cebu, she believed that it was now her time to showcase her talents. Via the mobile application, she has forged her way into the big stage with her distinct and unique features. Combining voice quality, a bubbly personality, and her trademark curly hair, she believes she can be molded into a good performer through the competition. Through her song, she hopes to inspire the youth and continue encouraging people in pursuing their dreams.
- PFC Virna Liza 'Aiza' Moreno - 28, Nueva Ecija
When Aiza was six, her mom asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up. Even then, she has already known the answer: to be a soldier and serve her country, just like her grandfather who was a World War II veteran. Aiza is now 28, training with the Special Forces Regiment – Airborne of the Philippine Army. Born in Nueva Ecija, she now stays in her camp at Fort Bonifacio and only gets to home during her two long vacations a year. But Aiza has no complaints. She feels it is more prestigious being a female member of the army. These days, another prestige has come upon Aiza—the member of the army band and singer of the Special Forces has been selected as a finalist during the Philippine Army auditions of Rising Stars. With her powerful voice and cheery personality, Private First Class Aiza Moreno is poised to make her country proud in more ways than one.

- Alliyah Cadeliña - 15, Manila
She was chosen to battle one of the finalists. Hoping to get into the top 8 and in the competition, she challenged Le'Anna Layumas with the song Girl on Fire but she did not won the battle, with Lee'Anna still secured on her spot in the top 8.
- Victoria Ingram - 18, Cebu
She among with two other eliminated contestants Jestonie and Kurt were brought back, after getting the highest votes in challenge-a-star online. but only Victoria was chosen. She challenged Barbie Derilo, with the song Iris. In the end, Victoria beat Barbie on a close fight, securing her self in the top 6.
