Rishi Khosla is a British-Indian serial entrepreneur and the co-founder and chief executive officer of OakNorth Bank Limited,[1] a digitally-led bank focused on lending to small and medium-sized growth businesses and entrepreneurs.[2]

Education

Khosla holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University College London, and a Masters in Accounting & Finance from London School of Economics,[3] where he was awarded a scholarship by the Economic and Social Research Council.[4]

Career

Khosla started his career in banking at ABN Amro[5]

In 1999, Khosla moved to GE Capital’s London-based business development group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions.[6] During his tenure, he established an early stage venture fund for GE Capital, which he co-managed.[7][8] He subsequently joined the family office of Lakshmi Mittal to manage their venture capital and private equity investments.[9]

Khosla was one of the co-founders of Copal Amba, an outsource research business for investment banks, which was acquired by Moody's Corporation in 2014.[10] In mid-2008, Copal Amba was ranked the Number One Investment Research and Analytics KPO in Brown and Wilson Group's annual 'Black Book of Outsourcing 2008'.[11] Khosla was also one of the recipients of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2011.[12]

Khosla founded OakNorth Bank[1] with business partner, Joel Perlman. In 2015, it was awarded a full banking licence by the PRA and FCA and began deposit taking and lending in September 2015.[13]

Philanthropy

Khosla has been a Trustee of New Philanthropy Capital (NPC),[14][15] an organization providing independent research and tailored advice on the most effective ways to support charities,[16][17] for eight years.
