Rino Passigato (born 29 March 1944, in Bovolone) is an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman, who is the current Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal.
Biography
Passigato was ordained a Priest on the 29 Jun 1968 in Verona, Italy. In 1991 he was appointed to be the Titular Archbishop of Nova Caesaris and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio to Burundi. By 1996 he was Apostolic Nuncio to Bolivia and in 1999 he had moved on to Peru. On 8 November 2008 he took up his current post in Portugal that had been vacated by Archbishop Alfio Rapisarda, who had retired.[1] He also served in the Apostolic Nunciature in Canberra (Australia)in the late 1970s and also in the United Kingdom under Apostolic Nuncio Barbaroto.
