Richard Higgott
Richard Higgott is an Emeritus Professor of International Political Economy (and former Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research) at the University of Warwick.[1]
He was (1989–90) president of the Australasian Political Studies Association.[2]
In 2008 the Academy of Social Sciences (UK) conferred the award of Academician on him.[3][4]
In June 2011 he took up the position of Vice Chancellor of Murdoch University, Australia.[5] He resigned from Murdoch in October 2014 to return to a research career.
Other Achievements
Higgott was National Director of the Australian Institute of International Affairs; President of the Australasian Political Science Association; Vice-President of the International Studies Association (USA); Council Member and Principal Policy Adviser to the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences (UK). Recent board appointments include the Academic Council of the United Nations System, the Council for Asia-Europe Cooperation and the UK Department for International Development’s Committee on Economic and Social Research. He is a member of international supervisory boards of university research institutes in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia.
