Richard Hertling

Richard Hertling was Acting United States Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legislative Affairs from January 2007 to July 2007. Born and raised in New York City, Hertling is a graduate of Brown University and The University of Chicago Law School. He is also former Chief of Staff to Sen. Peter G. Fitzgerald (R-IL) and a longtime veteran of Capitol Hill.

Controversies

Hertling has been determined to be involved with the dismissal of U.S. attorneys controversy. He conferred with and corresponded with Kyle Sampson in 2007 regarding the firing of the U.S. attorneys.[1]
