Republica is the debut studio album by English band Republica, released on July 30, 1996 by RCA Records in the United States and on October 5, 1996 by Deconstruction Records in the United Kingdom. Produced by the band with additional production by Ben Grosse, Republica is an alternative rock album which fuses different genres of electronic music, such as electronica or techno, and also contains elements of Hi-NRG and trip hop music.
Upon its release, the album received generally positive reviews from music critics and was also a commercial success, peaking at number 153 on the Billboard 200 and number four on the UK Album Charts.
Three singles were released from the album: "Bloke" and two hit singles, "Ready to Go" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous".
