René Vuaillat

René Vuaillat born March 28, 1923 in Saint-Germain-de-Joux (Ain) was an engineer of Arts and Crafts ( Cluny 1941) , engineer of the Superior National School of IFP (1946) . It actively participates in the Maquis of Ain. For Renault, he designed the famous "Cléon-Fonte engine" , it is also the inventor of the braking distribution device full grip . It will also director of Renault-Gordini.

Biography

The September 10, 1946 , is an engineer René Vuaillat engine to the Dean of Studies at Renault . On 1 January 1952 , he was assigned to the direction of applied research , where he developed the adaptation of free-piston generators Pescara on our locomotives . On August 1, 1953, deputy department head passes motors studies. On 1 January 1957 , he became Head of Studies engines.[1]

He designed the famous " Sierra engine" better known as the "Cléon-Fonte engine". It appeared in 1962 on the Renault Floride S et la Renault 8. This four-cylinder models have animated generations passing through the years 956 to 1565 cm3 cm3 of Florida to Twingo via the Renault 11 Turbo and Renault 5 Turbo 2. On 1 January 1962 , he became head of service and chassis architecture, and mechanical design project became director on 1 July 1965. On 1 January 1976 , René Vuaillat became director of Renault-Gordini, it is also deputy director of automotive research and development. He ended his career as director of advanced product technology.[3]

It is also René Vuaillat that we owe the braking distribution device full grip , whose patent was filed by Régie Nationale des Usines Renault 13 February 1980.
