Rayachoti is a town in Kadapa district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a municipality in Rayachoti mandal of Kadapa revenue division.[3]

Geography

Rayachoti is located at 14°03′N 78°45′E / 14.05°N 78.75°E / 14.05; 78.75. It has an average elevation of 1200 metres (3,900 feet).

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[4] Rayachoti had a population of 1,73,266. Males constitute 50.9% of the population and females 49.1%. Rayachoti has an average literacy rate of 61.6%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 51%. In Rayachoti, 18% of the population is under six years of age.

Rayachoti is one of the main centre of Urdu Language . Here the ancient poets and sufis’ play a main role to develop Urdu language and literature. They spread their messages related to Islam in the basis of Urdu.The historical places of Rayachoti shows that people here follow custums , and traditions ,the literary works goes on in the form of “Jananus ser” , “Zenul Majalis” , and “Misbahul Hayat” which contains Hamd , Naath and Qaseeda . these poetry forms gives the people to follow the custums and tradition of Islam. Urdu Literary work improves among the people as a result this area contains Urdu Primary Schools , Upper Primary Urdu Schools , Urdu High Schools , Junior Colleges , Degree Colleges in Urdu respectfully and the main branch is Urdu Training Centre (District Institute of Educational Training )is also Located in this area .
