Rattlesnake bean
The rattlesnake bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is an heirloom pole bean. The pods are 6 to 8-inches long with purple markings drying to a rattlesnakes snake's tan and brown color range. They are sweet-tasting as fresh snap beans and favor hot weather such as in southeast and mid-Atlantic though they are easy to grow else where as well. It has an average to long time from germination to harvest with some sources ranging from 60–90 days. With the consensus of 70 day range excluding the 'Preacher Bean'.[1]
