Ram Shinde

Ram Shankar Shinde is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Karjat Jamkhed Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.[1] He was appointed Maharashtra's minister of state in December, 2014[2] and was given responsibility of the home portfolio. He was also made guardian minister of Ahmednagar district.[3]

Controversy

Shinde has been criticised for allegedly inaugurating an establishment that serves alcoholic beverages in Supa, in the presence of Deepak Kesarkar, also Maharashtra minister of state, of the Shiv Sena. The context of the criticism is the government's proposal to bring prohibition to Ahmednagar district.[4]
