Rafael Scapini de Almeida (born June 29, 1982), commonly known as Rafinha (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʁɐˈfĩɲɐ], is a Brazilian footballer. He currently plays for Belgian team K.A.A. Gent of the Belgian Pro League. He moved to KAA Gent from the Finnish champions HJK in August 2011. It has been widely speculated in the Finnish media if Rafinha was applying for the Finnish citizenship. National team manager Mixu Paatelainen has expressed his interest in adding Rafinha to the national team roster. Rafinha has a Finnish wife and two children.
